I gained my professional qualifications at a respected local Cambridge building company and in 1978 commenced working independently in and around Cambridge. I have worked mainly at private residences but also have commercial experience.

I am one of the original loft conversion companies in Cambridge and began trading as B&S Loft Conversions in the early 80’s. This ran for about 3 years until I wound the partnership up. I then began trading as Barcol Loft Conversions and have now decided to go back to trading under my own name.me.

My speciality is loft conversions, having completed about 75 within the Cambridge area, possibly more, I’ve lost count! I have also built extensions, single and two storey and completed many other small and large building works, such as underpinning, kitchens, porches, decking, garage conversions, brickwork, patios, built in wardrobes etc, etc. I have designed and built my own 4 bedroom detached house in Willingham and also one for a client in Comberton. There is no work that I do not feel confident or competent in undertaking.

I provide a comprehensive service that includes all aspects of general building.
